Meet Anastanzia Banda, 12, a former learner at Chulu Primary School in the Mutchenda Area Programme, Kasungu District.
Anastanzia once described herself as an average performer. But everything began to change when she joined her friends in participating in the Maphunziro Mbambande Quiz Competition.

The quizzes sparked a stronger reading culture, boosted her confidence and helped improve her academic performance. Soon, the girl who once considered herself an average learner had become a high-performing learner with dreams of reaching a national secondary school.

When the Healthwise team visited Kasungu for the quizzes, Anastanzia boldly told them she would make it to a national secondary school after the Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE).

“I told the Healthwise team that I would be selected to a national secondary school, and I worked hard to make it happen.” Anastanzia Banda.
